What is it with our system!? Adult students can’t get the support they need to get throught school. The system is totally geared for the “traditional” student. There are no allowances for the adult learner who has bills to pay! Now before you go off and say that I should get a job let me just tell you that as a full-time student who is also doing a work-study and has a family that I don’t have time for another job. I guess I could quit school and get a no end job, but where would that get me? I would have all these student loans to pay back and not have anything to show for them! I am trying to better myself here and the only way to do it is with education, but our system makes it very difficult if not impossible for adult students to really make it. I understand the fact that my wife and I did things a little backwards by having kids before we decided what we really wanted, but it is done and I wouldn’t trade it for the world! There has to be a better system!
